I just remembered some happy things that happen earlier this week. So I guess it’s not that bad after all, and here I thought nothing good happened. I just didn’t remember…
At raffles place square, where all the banks are and the two big tv screen is. There are three ‘field’ on the square where a few big red stone ball are located. “stay curious” can be found on the ball surface. Lately, there are a few weird advertisement going around there by OCBC. Instead of that few red big ball, they spread out a whole bunch of red ball of all sizes all around. They are exercise balls, the biggest one can be used as a chair if you want but of coz, happy balancing. They come by once every few days to throw the balls all over the three field and let the public carry it home…

It was quite fresh to see at first but lately its getting scary, initially when this is new, not many people knew that they are allowed to take it home. I manage to take one of the biggest ball mid way when people starts to know that the ball is FFA. It wasn’t easy already, coz people somehow manage to ‘reserve’ the ball by standing at specific location. I still manage to get it though, lucky me, because after that day, all the events have been a total disaster…
I didn’t mean to be bias, but I have to say, Singaporeans really living up to the label ‘kiasu’. I have to admit, I myself is kiasu too, looking out for sales and so on, but I won’t snatch with people for a piece of clothes or shoes. Most of the time, I would just play the nice lady role and give it up. That wasn’t the case for that bunch of people whom I thought was prideful, and some demure. Some people can walk into a shop and make unreasonable request and demand we do as he says. Some people can walk into a shop full of stupid question but is polite or shy at the same time. Although these two type of people could be categorized into opposite character easily. They all react the same way when they see free things. Take? No they don’t take. They Snatch!

I was initially not satisfied with just one big ball, I want the other three smaller sizes as well, but the scene was such a horror, it left me shocked and speechless. People are standing all around the field patches as if they are preparing for war. It looked like they will rush into the field right the second the balls are ready to be collected. I was wrong, very, very wrong. I was there waiting for the go ahead sign from the people who brought the balls in. They are still spreading them out, not all of them have been released from their net, I suppose I could wait. It was then when they are releasing the last two bags of largest ball, the office working people whom I thought was all I thought, rushed in for the kill. They didn’t wait for the go ahead sign. They didn’t care. They were stopped by the people in charged. They didn’t care. They are not allowed to do that, because it wasn’t ready, they haven’t finish their job. They didn’t care. They were asked to move back, they didn’t care. Just snatch the netting bags of balls from the worker, they couldn’t wait any longer, not even a few minutes more. Tear the bag as if it is full of raw diamonds inside. Push it all into the big black garbage bag they prepared. As many as possible, call their friends for help to take more. I can’t believe my eyes… for god’s sake, they are the office people… since when they became aunties at market. Or is their pay so low nowadays that they need to do this?
All these events render the workers helpless. 90% of the many, many balls were gone anyway, what could they do? I stood there looking at all the happenings, I didn’t dare to go out and take the red balls, was totally in shock. I rather not get involved in those snatchings and what almost seems like brawling. Scary, scary…
The good thing is, I still got my biggest red ball at the premises of my own room. I am glad as it is already… my first exercise ball,

but clueless on how to go about using it.
